The first person ever to finish reading my entire sequel to Forbidden Sea just got back to me about what she thought of it. She said she liked it even better than the first book! And how did this anonymous person get a hold of my entire unpublished manuscript you might ask? She's a member of my writer's group. If there are any would be authors out there reading this, I highly recommend joining a writer's group to everyone. I've learned so much from them. My writer's group is the BEST. However, they are also known for being brutally honest. So it means a lot to get positive feedback from any of them once in a while.
My writer's group friend did have one other suggestion to make while reading the manuscript. Even MORE romance, please.
Your wish is my command. : )
Congratulations! You've just discovered the Mysterious Blog of Sheila A. Nielson

Questions You are Dying to Know the Answer Too--Answered
Have a question about Forbidden Sea that you are dying to know the answer too? Well this is your chance to ask those questions. Leave your questions in the comments below and you just might get an answer. (I must warn you though, that some things I can't say too much about because they are covered in the sequel.) Give it a try and see!
I'll start off by answering the one question I get more than any other when visiting with readers.
*Spoiler Warning* Do not read questions and answers unless you have read the book Forbidden Sea.
Do Adrianne and Denn ever get together? The answer is YES. But if you want to know more about how it happened, you'll have to read the sequel. : )

Talking With a Dear Friend
I’ve been in the throes of research for a couple of my upcoming stories lately. In one of these stories I have a character that has dealing with cancer. One of the things I did to learn about cancer was interview a very dear friend of mine who had suffered through a recent battle with leukemia. Listening to her speak candidly of the horrific experience touched me down to my core. She let me read diary entries of her darkest days, gave me a blow by blow account of what treatment was like. I cried all the way home in the car as I realized what a beautiful and strong person my friend is. A true hero was right in front of me, and I didn't even know it. It makes me wonder how many other incredible stories are happening all around me if I only had eyes to see the truth. It has been a very humbling experience.

Theme Songs for Characters
Whenever I write a story I like to create soundtracks that help me get into the proper mood as I create. I'll pick songs that fit a certain character or event in a story.
For Forbidden Sea, Adrianne and Denn's theme song was Teardrops on My Guitar by Taylor Swift. Even though this song is modern, I felt it showed Adrianne's feelings for her best friend Denn perfectly. Click here to listen and see if you don't agree. Don't forget to substitute the name Denn for Drew. : )
So the story I'm currently working on also has a soundtrack. The main character's theme song is Pale by Temptation Within. Listen to the song by clicking here and see what you think this song is telling you about this character.

Introduction to the Mysterious Blog
Congratulations!
You've just discovered the mysterious and unknown blog of the author Sheila A. Nielson.
Authors have many idea and stories that will never see the light of publication. I have only one book published so far and dozens of past and present projects that may never be seen by the public. Knowing this, I have often wondered about those mysterious stories (written by my favorite authors) that I may never get to read. It's just not fair!
So I've decided to create this mysterious blog. This is where I will post hints, research findings, and fun concept items that have to do with the stories I am currently working on that are not yet published. These manuscripts may never get published and even if they do, they will probably be very different stories by the time I'm through with them. But this way, a few clever people will get a chance to see bits and pieces of what it is I have in the works. I can't give too much away, mostly what I'll put on this blog will be only hints of what is to come. I am not going to make any outside links to this page, so only those who are smart and know their way around blogger will be able to find this blog.
At any given time I can be working on multiple manuscripts, so I will be changing the way this blog looks to reflect the different stories I'm focusing on. Can you tell what kind of story I'm working on now? Take a look around this page and guess.
It will be interesting to see how many people discover this page.
